For the last few weeks our class, divided up into groups, has given presentations on various diseases and conditions. All were great but some had included skits and videos that were HILARIOUS!
Congratulations to the PA 2012 Class in their efforts to help victims of Japan’s recent earthquake. Jessica Parkyn, PA ’12, discovered that Students Rebuild, Do Something, and Architecture for Humanity foundations would donate $2 for every origami crane folded, up to 100,000 cranes. The PA Class folded 359 cranes and sent them to the sponsoring organizations. Some of the cranes may be put into an art installation in the future.
Saturday April 9th a few of us students had the opportunity to volunteer at the SGA Interprofessional Health Fair. We were each assigned to stations where we performed tests or measurements and also gave some patient education. The stations were: strength and balance, blood pressure, feet, nutrition/BMI, diabetes, vision screening, dental, etc. It was a great chance to learn by experience!
