Fun Friday - Rainbow Day!!

HPDP Project- Poplar Elementary School

Our group for HPDP (Kari Ostlie, Nancy Sanchez, Nabilah Ali, Sarah Broome, Delie Saat, and Jason Langlois) went to Poplar Elementary School and taught 200 6th grade students about the food guide pyramid and how to make healthy decision when choosing what to eat. We also talked about dental hygiene and the proper way to brush and floss your teeth.  The student really loved the interaction and we had the opportunity to talk to them about what being a PA is all about.  We had a great time.

HPDP Project- Park West High School

Here are some pics we took when we went to Park West High school to present on Safe sex, STDs, HIV, Pregnancy prevention, and some resources they can contact for help. Holly Ariss, Amanda Whitaker, Nicole Chase, Raelyn Ritchie, Lauren Hutchison are the members of our group! Nicole played a statistics game to see the odds of getting pregnant, Raelyn educated on HIV, I talked about the other STD, Holly demonstrated putting on a condom by using a banana.
